Sea Changes is a novel about a woman’s search for identity following the sudden death of her husband after a long and happy marriage. The story begins after the main character, Peggy, has started a new life in an island community near Seattle. She commutes to work by ferry and soon meets a fellow passenger, Raoul, who is also widowed. As they begin a hesitant relationship, Peggy struggles to preserve the memory of her husband, while seeking new companionship at the same time. Most of all, she’s committed to making the next phase of her life meaningful and rewarding. While Sea Changes deals with many midlife issues, it is also a lighthearted tale that includes humor, travel, cooking, music and political banter among a close group of commuting companions on the daily ferry.

Excuse me, have you seen socks like these?

"Honestly, our husbands think all we do is eat bonbons and throw every other sock behind the sofa."
